Conservation is an essential part of framing. Framing your art, pictures, photos or collectibles to enhance their appearance is only one aspect of framing.  Another aspect is conservation, that is, preserving the objects for the future and protecting them from the ravages of acidic environments and UV light.  Among other things, acid turns paper brittle and yellow or brown, UV light fades colors.

If you look at a framed picture and see that the beveled edge of the mat is brown then the framer did not use acid free mat board.  If you note that the colors are faded or it has an overall blue cast then UV filtering glass was probably not used.  We use only archival materials and techniques when framing your project, assuring high levels of preservation.
