The Frame-Up has been in business in Goleta for over 40 years and in the Calle Real Center for the last two decades. We are a local, family-owned and run business. Alli Benson, the previous owner, started the tradition of The Frame-Up being voted the best custom framing store in Santa Barbara! Andy Franz, the new owner, would like to continue in that tradition with impeccable quality and service.

Andy Franz

Andy is a professionally trained carpenter and wood engineer with a love for art and design.
He inherited his sense of design from his mother who worked in the fashion industry. His father was an engineer who passed on an eye for detail and the ability to find elegant solutions for unusual challenges.
Andy studied in Germany and worked in Europe building traditionally crafted, high-end wooden houses. For 17 years he worked with artists and galleries in Sedona, Arizona, specializing in packing and shipping art all over the world.
For Andy, The Frame-Up is a dream come true, a place where his unique merits can flourish and his expertise be shared with the community.
Moving to Santa Barbara was another dream that came true. When Andy is not in the store you will find him in his kayak, playing tennis or enjoying a hike with friends.
